I have 5 flight contract proposals available currently - three 777, one A380 and one 747. However, even if I squeeze my schedule, I have no more small aircraft contracts available. Again, with the passenger AI updates, I could probably squeeze most of those into an hour and a half, with the really small ones (Beechcraft) probably only needing an hour or less. My large gates can handle at least five smaller aircraft per day and I have plenty of room for more flights on those gates. I just haven't gone back and re-done the schedule for those gates yet. Now, I could probably get one turned around in 2 hours. Back when that schedule was set, it was lucky to get a near fully-loaded A380 off within 4 hours. Now, I haven't played much since the passenger AI updates that were made a few weeks back, so this isn't optimal anymore. My Extra Large gates handle between 3 and 4 flights each per day. Here is a screenshot of my airport and current flight schedule. But after loading my game up tonight, I actually have 43 flights on 12 gates (1 is currently unused) to be exact. Why do you have so little flights on 40 gates, what is the bottle neck? aircraft availability, runway landing/take off, terminal intake, passenger traverse time in the larger terminal, something else? It's not realistic to have an en-route flight canceled just because the gate wasn't free. Obviously, if a plane has to wait, then the passenger and airline happiness drops, though. I would, however, like to have plane stands where planes can park temporarily so they can still land even if their gate isn't available yet. I live in Phoenix and even though I fly US Airways (gates on the north side of the airport), far more often than not my flights takeoff and land on the south runway and we have a long taxi from/to the gate. But even once they add the ability to assign runways, I won't use it. The only thing I don't like is the cafe drawback you mention. True, large airports are indeed a bit more challenging currently, but I like the challenge for the most part. Right now without the ability to assign runways and split cafe's I feel that smaller simple L-shaped airports are optimal. Not positive, but I believe I remember the dev on here mentioning something about adding more aircraft type to airlines, so I would assume there's some sort of fleet being accounted for - whether or not that's fixed in the game or somewhat randomized in each map instance I have no idea.ītw I have yet to build a very large airport. 70 of A320, 20 of B737, and 10 of B777 ), or we just get random options each day and your expansion rate outrun what you got offered? Interesting, any idea if Airlines have fixed fleets (e.g. Hence my suggestion about airline multi plane deals, which would diversify the landscape.Īnd you seem to agree, that currently there is no reason to use smaller planes. Why use Airbus A320(150), Boing 737(140), when you can always have 707 (180) in a day or so tops. And its not like we have small gates.Īnyway, the point is that right now airport would end up using only the higher cap planes i.e. Also they are paying per passenger, if you put small plane in XL gate, that is your problem not theirs. Otherwise you are just overcharging them, giving them a reason to go to the competition. That assumes that you have other options. If I'm gonna have a gate being used by a small plane isntead of a big profitable plane, you bet your ass I'd charge them a big price. ( Hence the initial question, if anyone made it work ) With little tweek you should be able to fit more smaller flight in the same schedule. Don't forget that smaller planes should take less time to service ( currently include luggage and boarding time) and cause less congestion in your terminal.
